Air-Way Global Manufacturing Achieves Caterpillar SQEP Certification
Friday, February 19, 2016

Air-Way Global Manufacturing (a/k/a Air-Way Manufacturing Company) has achieved bronze certification through Caterpillar’s Supplier Quality Excellence Process (SQEP). Air-Way, a supplier of custom and standard hydraulic fittings and adapters to Caterpillar and other major industry Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), is based in Olivet, Michigan and has plant locations in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, Canada, and China.
Caterpillar created the SQEP to recognize those suppliers that demonstrate their commitment to excellence and drive a “zero defects” culture within their organizations. Suppliers are certified through SQEP by meeting or exceeding stringent supplier performance standards, such as product quality and shipping performance, which are measured over the course of a year by a cross-functional global team of Caterpillar experts in the areas of engineering, manufacturing, logistics and procurement.
John Hamm, Air-Way’s President, Manufacturing and Engineering, commented that he values Air-Way’s long history as a Caterpillar supplier, and recalls the collaboration involved in earning Air-Way’s first major qualify certification over twenty-five years ago. John continued, “Only through the help of Air-Way people around the World have we evolved to the point where we are today.”
Bill Blank, Air-Way’s President, Finance and Marketing, stated that “We are proud to achieve SQEP certification as this recognizes Air-Way’s dedicated and professional employees who have adapted over the years by refining our business practices.”
Air-Way Global Manufacturing, founded in 1950, specializes in the manufacturing and supply of hydraulic fittings and adapters for OEM’s and distributors worldwide. Manufacturing facilities are located in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, Canada, and China, allowing Air-Way to own the manufacturing processes and much of the supply chain. Extensive in-house technical and product development capabilities provide efficient processes for design, engineering and prototyping of custom hydraulic fittings for OEM applications.
